 Selection of San Diego Chapter Accomplishments


  • Restructured the organization [established policies and procedures]
  • Conducted Board retreat, training, orientation, contracts
  • Applied technology efficiencies for online banking, and member tracking
  • Doubled revenue from 2007 to 2008, to 2009 to 2010, to the present [2013]
  • Established email automated communications, cleared past liabilities, zeroed out A/P


  • Increased membership from 28 [2005] to 290 active members
  • Members have increased their involvement and participation in events and program committees including volunteer opportunities
  • Contracts and business referrals have increased twofold for members

Programs & Training

  • The Emerging Latina Entrepreneur Fellowship [ELEF] has graduated 6 classes of ‘fellows’ [four in English and one in Spanish]
  • Over 10 workshops and seminars presented and/or delivered to members to increase their competitive advantage
  • Formalized training delivery through annual Emerging Latina Entrepreneur Fellowship Technical Assistance program
  • Peer-to-peer mentoring opportunities
  • Conducted best practices training and/or resources sharing with other NLBWA chapters including Orange County, Sacramento, Fresno and Los Angeles
  • Wellness conference held at Cornerstone Church
  • Microsoft in store training series [key corporate partner]

Events & Awards of the Year

  • Conducted over 23 networking mixers with over 100 attendees
  • Introduced breakfast seminar series and member lunches
  • Latinas in Business ‘White Party’ Summer 2012 Launch/Latinas in Business Foundation
  • 2012 Mayoral Forum hosts

  • Rebranded and have consistently sold out the annual Our Women in Motion Awards Gala Luncheon held every December at the University Club to honor outstanding Latina entrepreneurs and leaders
